---------------------- SPECIAL NOTES ! ----------------------
ENDSND - Handy if your not watching your PC, This
will send an Alarm when Xfer. is finished...
(You will find this in some of these BATCH Files)
E_SIG - Another type of sound to add to your .BAT files
if you want noise to get your attention!
=== CAUTION === It has been reported that some TSRs
screw this thing up, with unpre-
dictable results!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED...
BIMODEM - When using BIMODEM with QMODEM 4.x, I choose "B"
for the character to hit. But with QMODEM 3.x, this
was already used for Batch Ymodem Downloads, so I
choose "E" (use whatever, at your discretion)!
NOTE: These .BAT files are for version BIMOD114
or older. *NOT* working with Bimodem 1.20 yet!
Also, the .BAT files for BIMODEM are for single
file transfers! If you want to do Batch-UP/DOWN
loads, then you might consider replacing BMODx.BAT
with BIMENU91 or later. This way you can choose
which files to transfer from this menu system.
CMODEM - The "Command Line String" *MUST* be followed to the
letter, or this Protocol 'WILL-NOT' work! I know;
it took me 15 minutes to make this work, do to
incorrect information in the Documentation...
*** NOTE *** PUMA is now called MPT, due to some legal stuf *****
MPT - This has got to be the greatest External Protocol
since 'DIRT'! Its speed is *GOOD* and if nothing
else, It's the prettiest thing to see running!!!
There is a Configuration Program with it (MPTSET)
And it is all you need to do to make it run. Switchs
may be set on the command line, but *NOT* necessary
with the CONFIG. Program. It seems to work best as
follows for RTS/CTS type Modems.
MPT 1.00 Setup Program --
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ COM port : 1 Beep when finished : Yes │
│ UART baud : Current Use 16550A FIFOs : No │
│ Eff. baud : UART CTS/RTS handshake : Fast │
│ COM 1 base : 3F8 DCD monitoring : Yes │
│ COM 1 irq : 4 Modem hangup : No │
│ COM 2 base : 2F8 Wait for key : No │
│ COM 2 irq : 3 RLE compression : Yes │
│ COM 3 base : 3E8 Kill aborted files : No │
│ COM 3 irq : 4 Current date stamp : No │
│ COM 4 base : 2E8 Overwriting files : Yes │
│ COM 4 irq : 3 Resuming transfers : Yes │
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
┌────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ CDS log file = D:\QMDM\MPT.LOG │
│ DSZ log file = D:\DSZ.LOG │
└────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
The above is your choice as far as logging. (ONLY ONE!)
SUPERK -
SuperK Setup - (initalized by typing "superk @")
C)olors - This was pretty blah in default, so for S)uperK
mode so I changed: S=62 & U=113
D) Logfile : SK4.LOG G) Write On 0 : No *$*
E) XferFile: XFER.TXT H) Save Aborts: Yes (Like Zmodem) *$*
F) OvlPath : I) Overwrite : No
W) WrkPath : J) Resume DLs : Auto *$*
PATSTACK - (Program used to Change Stack Size)
Minimum Stack : 768
Maximum Stack : 1024 *$*
NOTE: *$* means Changed from Default.
Lynx - Personal choice. I changed colors in AUTOEXEC.BAT to my preference as:
SET LYNXCO=015,014,004,013,011,010
ZMODEM Switchs - If you DO-NOT have a "Registered" Copy
of ZMODEM, then you will HAVE TO "REMOVE"
pB4096 from 'ALL' .BATS, the -m -Z from
ZMODS(C).BAT; and the -mrrs from ZMODR(C).BAT.
(DSZ0626.ZIP [1990] or later)
DOS - If you ARE NOT running DOS 3.3, then the "@" of @ECHO OFF
will have to be removed! This is a handy way of keeping
the screen from printing ECHO OFF. (undocumented info)
NOTE: All have been tested with QMODEM 3.x & 4.x and were located
in my sub-directory \QMDM. Also under \QMDM, were created
\UPLD (Send File), \DNLD (Receive File) \BBS, (Bulletin Brd.
Send File), \HOST (Bulletin Brd. Receive File). sub-directories.
